EXCELLENT NEWS: MINNETONKA BEACH AWARDED $4,540,000 IN STATE INFRASTRUCUTURE FUNDING!

 

On May 17, 2026, Mayor Pagano received the official word from Senator Ann Johnson Stewart and Representative Andrew Myers that Minnetonka Beach has been awarded $4,540,000 from the 2026 Governor’s Infrastructure Bonding Bill – a major milestone for Minnetonka Beach! This funding award was secured through their strong bipartisan advocacy during the 2026 Minnesota Legislative Session and will directly support future, critical City infrastructure projects.

This historic achievement belongs to the entire community. Securing these funds required a monumental team effort. Mayor Pagano, City Council, City staff, engineers, and financial advisors invested countless hours into crafting a compelling funding request. Most importantly, residents made the difference, stepping up and sending 79 impact letters to Senator Johnson Stewart and Representative Myers requesting their support for the City’s funding request. Your voices were powerful, highly influential, and helped shape the final award decision.  A heartfelt thank you goes out to every resident who took the time to write, advocate and support this initiative. This funding award brings tremendous financial benefit to all Minnetonka Beach residents while securing the resources needed to continue to address the City’s remaining infrastructure needs.

URGENT REQUEST
The 2026 Minnesota Legislative Session is nearing its end, and key funding decisions that may directly affect you are about to be finalized. As a resident of the City of Minnetonka Beach, your support for the City’s request for $9.7 million from the Governor’s $907 million Capital Budget and Infrastructure Bonding Bill is extremely important. This funding would support future essential infrastructure projects. Mayor Pagano has been advised that resident letters of support carry significant weight in funding award decisions, and personalized stories of how this funding award would impact you and your family have the most impact.

 

Click on the link below "Request for Resident Letters to State Legislators for 2026 Funding"  for more detail of the request, and a letter template with information about current rates residents are paying for the water tower, water treatment plant, and wells; and information about critical future projects that the City is requesting funding for. Include any of these details if they help you tell your story to your representatives.

 

There is a quick turnaround on these resident letters. They are due to the City end of day on Tuesday, April 28^th.  You can email them or drop them off at City Hall either inside, in the mail slot in the post office, or in the bin next to the front door of City Hall.  Thank you in advance for taking the time to send a letter of support.
